One of the most popular gifts these days is an iTunes gift card, and it isn’t difficult to see why. With a gift card to Apple’s massive media store, you can download music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more—all for free! If you have an iTunes gift card but can’t figure out how to redeem it, go through the steps laid out below to access your gift.

Step 1
Launch the iTunes program on your computer and open the iTunes store. Once the store has loaded, look to the right-hand side of the screen. Above the “Top Singles” chart, you will see a “Quick Links” section.

Step 2
From the Quick Links section, select “Redeem.” You may be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password to log in. You will be taken to a new menu with a straightforward interface for redeeming your gift card code.

Step 3
Grab your iTunes gift card and use a coin to scrape away the silver stuff (or pull away the label) concealing the code. Then, type the entire code into the “enter your code manually box” on the bottom of the page. Make sure you’re typing with capital letters, since iTunes gift card codes are case sensitive.
